Assemble service records before a residential teardown

Related Siteforce work from our service gallery. This guide describes planning decisions, not a particular completed job.

An owner arranging a teardown needs a record of service decisions, not just a list of telephone calls made. Utility arrangements, site information and the removal scope should refer to the same property and structures. Siteforce can review the demolition enquiry while the responsible parties establish those prerequisites.

Identify each affected structure

Show the main building and any accessory structures included in the request. Record known service connections and documents without guessing concealed routes. Distinguish a service still required for retained work from one scheduled for termination.

Keep confirmations traceable

For each service, record the responsible provider or trade, requested action and documentary status. A booking is different from a completed disconnection. Mark outstanding confirmations clearly so they are not mistaken for permission to proceed.

Connect the record to the permit scope

Markham's demolition application guidance distinguishes complete and partial removal and requests utility arrangements. Confirm the current requirements for the actual property with the City and relevant providers. Keep the approved scope, service record and site plan aligned before release of work.

Questions about this topic

Does an unused building have no live services?
No. Vacancy does not establish service status. Obtain the appropriate confirmations through the responsible providers and trades.
