Commercial fit-outs
Automotive showroom refurbishment: the ordinary demolition package
A dealership can refresh its customer-facing rooms while a service department remains a separate part of the property. Define the showroom, sales offices, reception and customer washrooms involved. Vehicle handling and workshop equipment are not ordinary interior-demolition items.
Compare a refresh with a changed customer route
A finish refresh may retain the sales offices and reception layout while replacing selected coverings and fixed fittings. A layout change may remove enclosed offices to open a new display or customer route. The second option also changes the ceiling and floor edges where those rooms stood.
Show vehicle entrances and retained display areas on the plan. The owner and project team assess whether and how adjacent activities can continue; a retained service department is not a guarantee of uninterrupted operations.
Keep the workshop boundary explicit
Hoists, fuel systems, pits, fluids and equipment relocation have their responsible specialists. Do not absorb those scopes into a request for commercial strip-outs. If ordinary building removals are needed inside a service bay, use the separate service-bay refit guide to define that contribution.
At the showroom boundary, identify connected signs, screens, reception joinery and services crossing to other areas. The responsible trades prepare affected connections; the demolition assessment follows the accepted building scope.
Describe the floor and wall handover
In an illustrative redesign, two small sales offices leave while a customer washroom and reception remain. The new flooring installer must review former partition lines and any change in floor build-up. A larger open area does not mean a continuous finished floor has been delivered.
For a covering-only renewal, the commercial flooring service separates visible finish removal from substrate preparation. Repair, new glazing, new services and vehicle movement remain assigned outside the ordinary removal package unless expressly agreed and supported.
Enquire with the customer-area plan
Request an assessment with the premises address, proposed customer route, retained areas and fit-out contact. Identify which changes are showroom interiors and which belong to an independently managed workshop or equipment programme. This is a scope guide, not a claim of dealership programme credentials.
