Renovation decisions
Freeze fixture selections before a room strip-out
- Renovation decisions

An owner may still be deciding between keeping and replacing fixtures when the removal date arrives. A selection freeze turns those open choices into a manageable release list. It does not force a design decision; it prevents an undecided item from being removed by assumption.
Separate decided and undecided items
Use three explicit states: approved removal, confirmed retention and decision pending. Identify each fixture by room and photograph. Keep pending items outside the released scope until the authorised owner decision is recorded.
Check linked decisions
Keeping a cabinet may affect tile removal behind it; changing a fixture may affect service work. Ask the project team to identify those dependencies rather than treating each selection as isolated. A late choice can change the work boundary and should be reviewed before proceeding.
Issue the release version
Date the list, name the decision-maker and communicate changes through one agreed route. Withdraw superseded copies from active use. If the owner changes a selection after work begins, review the revised scope and any affected trades before acting on it.
